REFUGE SERVICES
9:00 & 11:00
TRADITIONAL SERVICE
-
What are your services like?Along with congregational hymns, in this 1-hour long inter-generational service you will also hear the sounds of our Chancel Choir, Bell Choir, and special music performances. Before the sermon, those in Pre-K through 5th grade are dismissed to Children’s Church. A nursery with trained staff is avaiable for children birth - 3 years old.
-
Will you single me out as a visitor or make me stand up?We will gladly welcome you as you come through the door and give you directions if you need them, but we will not single you out during the service.
-
Where do I park?Plenty of parking is available on the east side of the building. For visitors, we have a couple of reserved places for your convenience, close to our main entrance. Overflow parking is also available in the Landmark Bank parking lot next door.
-
What entrance do I use?The closest entrance to the sanctuary is on the east side of the building under the drive-thru awning.
-
When do I need to arrive? Our traditional worship service begins at 10:00 am, with Sunday School for all ages beginning at 9:00 am. For your first visit, it would probably be a good idea for you to arrive 5 to 10 minutes early to get parked and get your family to the appropriate locations throughout the building.
-
What do I do with my infant or toddler during the worship service? If you would like to worship in peace while your children are in a safe and fun environment designed just for them, we have a great nursery for your children during Sunday School and our traditional service. If you would like to keep your infant or toddler with you in service and are scared they might be disruptive, we have a cry room available on the west side of our sanctuary with a couple of rocking chairs and a large window so you can enjoy the service while not worrying about the noises your child may make. There are "busy boxes" available to borrow, with coloring pages, small toys, and other activities so that they can stay with you in service if you'd prefer. Those are located in the lobby.
-
Do you have something for young children during church?Families sit together during worship until the sermon, and then children Pre-K through 5th grade will be dismissed to Children's Church for the remainder of the service. If your child wishes to stay with you, we welcome children in the service and offer "busy boxes" with coloring pages, small toys, and other activities in the lobby that your child may borrow.
-
Can I keep my children with me during the worship service?Of course, families are always welcome to worship together. For your convenience, we have children’s "busy boxes" located in the lobby, filled with coloring pages, small toys, and other activities, that your children are welcome to borrow during services. Boxes should be returned afterward. If you have an infant, we also offer a cry room next to our main sanctuary that is a quiet, comfortable place to soothe your baby while still getting to enjoy the service.
-
Will you be having a communion service the day I visit?Yes! As Disciples we offer communion every week and everyone is welcome to participate in the Lord’s Supper with us.
-
Will I need a Bible? You do not have to bring a Bible. We project the words of the scripture text on the screen while it is read aloud. It’s never a bad idea to bring your personal Bible to highlight and make yourself some notes.
-
Is your sanctuary accessible?Yes, our building is on one level, and the restrooms off the Sanctuary are accessible to people with disabilities.
