Office Administrator and Associate Pastor
First Christian Church – Great Bend, KS
Position Title:
Office Administrator
Reports to:
Church Administrator and Personnel Committee
Work Schedule:
Mid time (30 hours) to Full time (40 hours), Monday thru Friday, with occasional after-hours events
Pay:
$16 - $22 / hour, Depending on Qualifications (DOQ)

Education:
Minimum of high school diploma; college coursework desired but not required

Position Summary:
Supports the daily operations of the church by providing administrative, clerical, technical, and organizational assistance. This role helps ensure smooth communication, efficient office management, and effective coordination of church ministries and activities.

Previous experience in similar position desired.

Strong organizational and time-management skills.

Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Publisher) and willingness to learn church management software.

Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

Positive, service-oriented attitude and ability to work collaboratively with staff and volunteers.

Previous office or administrative experience preferred.

Attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in records and administrative tasks.

Technology Support:

Technical proficiency with computers, networks, church management software, social media and office applications.

Administrative Support

Assist the Church Administrator with scheduling, correspondence, and record keeping.

Maintain church files, databases, and membership records.

Help prepare reports, presentations, and meeting materials.

Manage incoming calls, emails, and office inquiries.

Support administrative processes related to budgeting, expense tracking, and invoices.
-
Assist with facility scheduling and room reservations for church events.

Help coordinate vendor services, maintenance requests, and supplies.

Provide first-line technical support for church staff and volunteers (computers, printers, email, phones, internet, software)

Support video recording for worship services and online ministry.

Assist with uploading sermons, podcasts, and other digital resources to church platforms (website, YouTube, social media)

Provide technical assistance with church management software and digital giving platforms
Ministry & Congregational Support:

Provide logistical and clerical support for church programs, services, and events.

Assist in producing bulletins, newsletters, and other communication materials.

Maintain positive, professional communication with staff, volunteers, and congregation members.
General Office Duties:

Greet and assist visitors in a friendly, welcoming manner.

Order and organize office supplies.

Perform other duties as assigned by the Church Administrator or senior leadership.
Physical Requirements:

Regularly requires one to sit, stand, kneel, stoop, squat, talk, walk, and hear.

Ability to reach for items on a desk or shelves, and potentially bend to pick up items from the floor.

Dexterity to use a keyboard, mouse, and other office equipment routinely.

Ability to speak clearly, listen, and retain information so that one may conduct phone conversations and in-person interactions.

Position Title:
Youth / Associate Minister
Reports to:
• 1) Church Administrator, 2) Pastoral Relations Chair, 3) Senior Minister and 4) Board of Directors.
Work Schedule:
• Full time, Sunday thru Thursday. Flexible schedule, with evening and weekend availability required.
Compensation:
• We offer a competitive and ministry-aligned compensation package, which includes:
Base Salary - Annual base salary commensurate with experience and qualifications.
Housing Allowance – a designated housing allowance is provided as part of the total compensation package. In accordance with IRS guidelines, this allowance is tax-exempt for qualifying ministers.
Health Insurance – individual or family coverage options may be available.
Paid Time Off – vacation, sick, and holiday pay

Total Compensation Package - $80,000+ - Depending on Qualifications
Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in Theology, Ministry, or related field desired OR currently enrolled in a degree program.
Position Summary:
• The Youth Associate Minister assists in leading and nurturing the spiritual growth of middle and high school students. This role supports the overall mission and vision of the church by building strong relationships with youth, planning and implementing youth programs, and guiding students in their faith journey through teaching, mentoring, and discipleship. The Youth Associate Minister will also partner with the Senior Minister to care for the overall congregation, which includes preaching, teaching, visitations, funerals, weddings, etc.
Required Qualifications:
• A growing, personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
• A clear calling and passion for youth ministry.
• Strong biblical knowledge and ability to communicate Scripture effectively.
• Excellent interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills.
• Willingness to adhere to the church’s Mission, Vision and Values.
Preferred Qualifications:
• 2+ years of experience working with youth in a church or ministry setting.
• Familiarity with youth culture, trends, and digital communication tools.
• Training in child safety and/or trauma informed care (or willingness to complete upon hire).
• Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with passenger endorsement to drive church bus is desired (or willingness to obtain), but not mandatory.
Job Responsibilities:
Spiritual Leadership & Teaching:
• Lead students in growing their personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
• Prepare and deliver biblically sound messages during youth services and gatherings.
• Provide individual discipleship, mentoring, and spiritual guidance to students.
• Facilitate small groups, Bible studies, and youth meetings tailored to youth.
• Assist and serve as backup to Senior Minister for worship services, pastoral care, funerals, weddings, and other duties, as needed.
Program Planning & Execution
• Plan, organize, and lead weekly youth services and special events (e.g., retreats, camps, outreach events, mission trips).
• Create and implement a comprehensive discipleship strategy for middle and high school students.
• Develop engaging curriculum that aligns with the church’s vision and theology.
Relationship Building:
• Build strong, positive relationships with students, parents, and volunteers.
• Be actively involved in students’ lives through school events, sports, and personal milestones.
• Serve as a pastoral presence to youth and their families during times of need, crisis, or celebration.
Volunteer Recruitment & Development:
• Recruit, train, and equip adult and student leaders to serve in the youth ministry.
• Provide ongoing support, encouragement, and development opportunities for volunteers.
• Ensure appropriate adult-to-student ratios and compliance with child safety policies.
Communication & Collaboration:
• Communicate regularly with parents through meetings, newsletters, emails, and social media.
• Work in partnership with church leadership to integrate youth into the broader life of the church.
• Collaborate with children’s ministry and other staff to ensure smooth transitions and unified ministry goals.
Administration & Stewardship:
• Maintain accurate records of student attendance, events, and ministry involvement.
• Manage the youth ministry budget responsibly, including planning for trips, events, and materials.
• Ensure all youth ministry activities follow church policies and child protection guidelines.
Outreach & Community Involvement:
• Engage with local schools, community organizations, and outreach programs to build connections and serve the community.
• Encourage students to live out their faith through service, evangelism, and missions.
